Message from Mr. Ambarish Datta, Managing Director CEO, BSE Institute Limited.
The world is going through a triple crisis of finance, development and environment. These areas seem disparate, but interact with each other in powerful ways, and reflect structural imbalances between finance and the real economy; between the developed countries and poor developing societies, between actors on local and national levels; and between human political and economic systems on the one hand and the earth’s ecosystems on the other. The role of the financial markets in such an environment becomes even more important. The proper functioning of the financial markets is vital in the contemporary economy, in order to achieve an efficient transfer of monetary resources from those who save money toward those who need capital and who succeed to offer it a superior utilization; the capital market can
influence significantly the quality of investment decisions. The gathering of temporary capitals that are available in the economy, the reallocation of those that are insufficiently or inefficiently used at a certain moment and even the favoring of some sectorial reorganizations, outline the capital market’s place in the economy. This requires the development of financial market professionals who have the knowledge and skills to maneuver this landscape successfully. The MBA Financial Markets Practice program has been designed to address this need for developing skilled professionals. This course shall not only help you gain basic knowledge in the ever changing field of Financial Markets globally, but also encourage organizations to involve job ready graduates like you!I encourage you to read on and take advantage of this opportunity!
Message from Mr. Vinod Nair Head – Academics and Product Development, BSE Institute Limited.
The 21st-century global marketplace is placing more emphasis on cross-disciplinary intellectual skills and in-depth knowledge bases necessary to understand the complex contexts in which employees will work.
As organizations worldwide tighten their belts, the global economic crisis serves to further inflate businesses’ requirements of new graduate recruits and expectations of their ability to add immediate value. Paradoxically, most new graduates are Generation Y, and are perceived by industry as ambivalent to commitment and less loyal than their predecessors. Organizations are growing increasingly reluctant to invest in their training, particularly in transferable skills, tipping the balance of the responsibility of skill development towards higher education institutions (HEI). HEIs worldwide, however, seem to be producing graduates deficient in the “soft” skills deemed essential for enhanced productivity and innovation in the workplace.
This is even more evident in the Financial Markets industry. Out here it is established that, effective enterprise learning takes place in an environment where people are given autonomy to tackle problems or issues that involve an element of risk and uncertainty about final outcomes, as well as reward for their successful resolution. This is the context in which we have designed our MBA Financial Markets Practice program. In the traditional classroom setting, students tend to interpret the knowledge and ideas in terms of that setting rather than in terms of the environment where the knowledge and ideas are needed. Hence, a divide exists between how students engage with the course content and how they will need to engage and use the knowledge in a real-world context.
This program has been designed, so that it will, as much as possible, mimic a real financial market situations so that students can explore, experiment with, and understand it before engaging with a live client. The program pedagogy provides a structure through which students develop the knowledge, skills, and values that define various aspect of the financial market
profession.
We welcome you to the world of opportunities !
