Each year, the program produces competent nurses who are capable of making independent decisions in nursing situations, protecting the rights of individuals and groups in pursuit of health, functioning effectively in hospitals & community nursing services, and conducting research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also well prepared to fill the role of a teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical / public health setting.
On completion of M.Sc Nursing degree program, the graduates are able to:
- Apply knowledge from physical, biological & behavioural sciences, medicine (including alternative systems), and, nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities
- Practice as a nurse specialist
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and effect change in nursing practice and in the health care delivery system
- Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system
- Conduct research studies in various settings and utilise the research findings to improve the quality of care
The clinical exposure in the respective speciality, classes conducted by the faculty and industry experts, participation in various conferences, organising workshops on their own and the dissertation itself make each student’s pathway to achieve the aims of the course.
