in collaboration with FORTIS HEALTHCARE

Keeping in view World Health Organization’s (WHO) theme of working together for health, Chitkara University (CU) initiated its Nursing Program at the Chitkara School of Health Sciences (CSHS). The aim of the School is to train and develop high-quality nursing staff to provide healthcare services up to the grassroots level, as well as to meet the global demand.

As global population is rising, there is a relative fall in the number of healthcare workers. With an increasing number of nurses migrating abroad, India is facing an acute shortage of faculty and clinical practitioners in the field. This necessitates the initialization of more educational institutions to meet local, national and global demands for healthcare providers.

Our four-year B.Sc. Nursing Program is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Punjab Nursing Council (PNC).

Collaboration with Fortis Healthcare

Fortis Healthcare (Mohali) is our key partner for providing the necessary “hands-on” clinical and para-clinical experience necessary for the students pursuing this hospital-based academic program. The overall aim of the Nursing Program is to prepare a graduate nurse to work as a frontline worker in the clinical and community fields, as well as in the educational arena.

Our Pedagogy
