BCI Recognition
The Bar Council of India (BCI) is a statutory body established by Parliament of India under the Advocates Act, 1961. The BCI performs multiple functions to promote and regulate the legal education and legal profession in India. Some of its functions related to the regulation of legal education include grant recognition to Universities whose degree in law will serve as qualification for enrolment as an advocate, prescribing standards of legal education and professional conduct, inspect Universities, approve recognition, on a reciprocal basis, to the foreign qualifications in law obtained outside India, for the purpose of admission as an advocate in India, establishing law libraries, conduct seminars and talks on legal topics by eminent jurists and publish journals and papers of legal interest etc. BCI performs these functions in consultation with the Universities in India imparting legal education and the State Bar Councils.

In the United Kingdom, the IET has the authority to establish professional registration for the titles of Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and ICT Technicians, as a licensed member institution of the Engineering Council.
