The NSS department of Chitkara University organises a 7-Day NSS camp with the aims to sensitizing NSS volunteers
“The best way to find oneself is to lose oneself in the service of others”.
NSS department, Chitkara University, organized a 7-Day special camp with aim of sensitizing NSS volunteers. The camp commenced on 20th June with an activity engaging the volunteers in poster making and poster presentation. The volunteers came up with innovative posters related to Yoga.
The following day, the NSS volunteers actively associated themselves in the session which marked the International Yoga Day. In the upcoming days, volunteers had meditation session by Dr. Parul Sood (Yoga Expert and Assistant Professor Chitkara University of Education) and expert talks on various aspects like Radio by Dr. Aushutosh Mishra (Dean School of Mass Communication) and Mr. Pankaj Garg (Assistant Professor Mass Communication), Hygiene by Dr. Meenakshi Sood (Deputy Dean School of Health Sciences), Sexual Harassment by Dr. Sangeeta Pant (Dean Chitkara University of Education) and Stress Management by Ms. Vandana Bisht (Vice-Principal College of Nursing, Chitkara University).
On the fourth day of the camp, a baking session was organized in an attempt to nurture the baking skills of the volunteers, under the able guidance of Mr. Susheel Kalra (Dean of CCHMC) and Mr. Ravi Kapila(Director CCHMC). Also, the students were also introduced to new terminology of “Upcycling” by Dr. Charu Khosla (School Officer NSS, CUIET).
Coming towards the end of the seven-day journey, a Zumba dance session was organized for the volunteers on 26th June, wherein they engaged themselves in aerobic exercises and felt refreshed. Ms. Rajwinder Kaur (School Officer NSS, College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University) and Ms. Rashmi Arora (Assistant Professor, College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University) organized a quiz for the NSS volunteers based on general awareness. Ms. Neelam, Programme Coordinator NSS, motivated the volunteers to keep-up the good work.
