Seminar on “Systematic Literature Review” throws light on quality research processes

A National Seminar on “Systematic Literature Review” for architecture faculty and students was organised with the objective to develop expertise in conducting quality research. Research being a building block that can find answers to things that are unknown, helps to fill gaps in knowledge and change ways of thinking.

During the first session renowned architect, Ar. Mahfuzuar Rahman explained the systematic and scientific literature reviews. He explained the difference between qualitative and quantitative research methods. Various methods for analyzing qualitative data were discussed. A literature review is the first and one of the most important features of research was detailed by Ar. Rahman through review papers and empirical studies. Components of a Research Paper -Discussed various components giving suitable examples from several published papers.

In the second session expert was a hands-on activity session to explain how to search, manage and use the collected data for literature review using relevant keywords related to one’s research area. Ar. Mahfuzuar explained how to use R Studio along with Mendeley to analyze the data.

At the end of the session, he introduced various upcoming conferences for undergraduate students, Ph.D. scholars, and faculty to participate.
