Dr. Niyati Chitkara, Principal, Chitkara International School (CIS) has been chosen amongst “33 Young rising stars of Indian education” by Education World. Dr Niyati, who is an education and business management alumna of Panjab University, Chandigarh, has been contributing to the cause of education development ever since the inception of the School. “Being married into the family of Dr. Madhu and Dr. Ashok Chitkara, founders of Chitkara University, education became a natural career choice for me. We encourage innovation and research, and provides our students strong industry and global connections,” says Dr Niyati.

Listing out the major initiatives that she had introduced in CIS was a new process for student assessment which takes every attribute and learning milestone of each student into consideration. “Moreover, by working closely with Chitkara University, we have prepared a curriculum that grooms students for tertiary education, future employment and entrepreneurship,” says she.

Expressing her views on the Indian education system she states that a favourable development is that the Indian education system has embraced change and accepted innovation and research as integral parts of education. She plans to strengthen the school’s links with community and industry and improve the global connect of their students.
