Chitkara University celebrates 4th International Yoga Day – 2018 with great enthusiasm at the campus.

NSS department of Chitkara University on the eve of International Yoga Day 2018 organized a one-hour yoga session–an annual feature of Chitkara University. The event was put with the aim of spreading awareness about benefits of Yoga to the body. The session experienced a huge turnout which included Deans and Directors of different Departments, faculty, staff, supporting staff and security at the campus.

Dr. Sangeeta Pant, Dean, Chitkara College of Education (CCE) and Dr. Parul Sood, Yoga Expert & Assistant Professor of CCE led the session by demonstrating various yoga asanas like Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Vakra asana, Padahastasana, Ardha Chandrasana, Trikonasana, Pranayama which included Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Bhramari, Udgeeth; and alongside explained to students and NSS Volunteers the benefits of each asana. Dr. S C Sharma, Registrar Chitkara University, Col. Rakesh Sharma, Associate Director University affairs, Dr. K K Mishra, Assistant Dean CUAQAC, took a step forward by accompanying students in doing various asanas.

The students felt energized and enthusiastically completed all the asanas. Ms. Neelam Verma, Programme Coordinator NSS, encouraged the students to inculcate yoga in their daily life to be in sync with nature itself. Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Madhu Chitkara congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the event.
