Brief Profile

Dr Sandeep Arora carries a professional experience spanning 23.5 years—3.5 years in pharma production and quality assurance in Glaxo I Ltd, Blue cross Ltd, and 20 years in teaching/training and research—in the fields of pharmacognosy and natural products, regulatory affairs, industrial pharmacy, and management. He is the author of the book titled, “Pharmaceuticals – Issues for Industrial Management” and has been the honorary editor of “Advanced Drug Review”—a quarterly drug pharmacology review index—since 2005; and has to his credit about 60 national and international publications. His area of specialization and research are medicinal natural products (phytochemical, pharmacological evaluation and standardization), development and regulatory aspects of herbal and other products, and industrial management. Under his guidance five Ph.D. students have completed their theses; 15 M. Pharm. students and 6 PhD candidates have completed their theses; and 8 Ph D projects are currently being guided by him. He has to his credit 4 patents as lead investigator, and 4 as coinvestigator and involved in 2 product launches at international level. He has convened 8 National/international conferences as Chairman, and is a regular expert speaker at OMICS, US and ASSOCHAM, India conferences, invited offshore speaker at Univ of Florida and is member APTI, and Pharmacy Council and Life member Inflammation Society, and consultant and advisor to Pharma industry on regulatory compliance and herbal product standardisation.

She has nineteen national and international publications under her name. She has filed two patents and also reviewer of various reputed national and international journals

He carries an experience of 14 years in industry and teaching , and is engaged with projects on use of natural excipients, novel excipients in drug delivery system and development of various NDDS.
He has 60 national and international publications five book chapters, 6 patents (applied )to his credit. He has guided (thesis ) 25 M.pharm students and supervising two Ph.D candidates.

She carries an experience of ten year nine months in teaching & research. She is engaged with projects on synthesis of nitric oxide derivatives and their pharmacological evaluation. She is also involved with the admission process for graduate and post-graduate courses at CCP.
She has 19 national and international publications under her name. One book entitled “ Pharmaceutical Chemistry – VI (Medicinal Chemistry -1” ) published.

Dr Ashish K. Rehni: Professor (Department of Pharmacology)

He carries an experience of eleven years in academics and research, and is engaged with projects on drug dependence, Stroke, toxicology and epileptogenesis. He is doing post doc at Cerebral Vascular Disease Research Laboratories, Department of Neurology and Neuroscience Program, University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, Florida, USA. He is also involved in neuropathy and stem cell research studies. He has 42 research publications (National and International) and four book-chapters under his name. He has filed one patent and got two international patents under his name. He has guided thesis for 06 M. Pharmacy students.

He carries an experience of 11 years in industry, Research and teaching.He is engaged with projects on interception of nicotine , morphine, alcohol dependence,ischemia, toxicology and epilepsy & neuropathy and stem cell research studies and handles affiliation formalities with the director’s office.He has also attended UGC networking course at PU, Chandigarh and clinical research training program at NIPER Mohali.He has 30 research publications (International) and 14-book chapters 1 book and 5 patents filed under his name. He has guided thesisfor 26 M.pharm students and supervising sixPh.D candidates.

He is engaged with projects on structure based drug design and medicinal chemistry of matrix metallo proteinase (MMP-2 and MMP-9) inhibitors as anticancer agents, computational and synthetic approaches for antibacterial drug resistance (targeting NDM-1), glucokinase activators as anti-diabetic agents, PPAR agonists for treatment of metabolic syndrome & diabetes mellitus and selective PDE4 & PDE7 inhibitors as anti-inflammatory agents. He has also worked on analytical method development and validation. He is also engaged with training for Induction batch (B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry) of Dr Reddy’s. He has 25 publications in National and International Journals of repute to his credit and has participated in about 15 national and international conferences. He has guided 07 M. Pharm. Dr. Tapan Behl carries professional experience of 7.5 years in academics and research. His areas of interest include diabetes and associated complications, molecular pharmacology, pharmacotherapy for diabetic complications of eye, drug transfusion across ocular barriers, neuropathic pain and rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Behl has more than 60 publications and 2 books in various International and National journals of repute. Dr. Behl has grabbed prestigious Awards like Sir Rattan Tata Trust Research Fellowship, Scientist of the Year Award, Young Researcher Award, Young Scientist Award, Excellence Award in Biomedical Research, Best Scientist Award, Rashtriya Gaurav Award. Dr. Behl is also serving as a reviewer of many reputed journals like PLOS ONE, Oxidative Medicine and Molecular Longevity, Oncotargets, Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine, Biomedical Reports, Science Alerts and American Research Journal of Pharmacy etc. Dr. Behl is also engaged with training for Induction batch (B.Sc. She has 1.5 year experience in teaching. She did her research work on biomarkers which can be used as early detection of cardiovascular risk in metabolic syndrome patients & diabetic patients. She is guiding M .Pharm. students. She is also engaged in training to Pharm D students in hospital ward rounds and patient counseling training. Dr. Saurabh Gupta, M. Pharm. (Pharmacology), Ph.D.

Dr. Saurabh Gupta carries professional experience of 12 Years in academics and research. He is engaged with clinical and preclinical drug development, derived from extensive graduate training in Pharmacology. Conducted research focused on the Respiratory mechanism of Pharmacological preconditioning. As Pharmacological preconditioning plays an important role in allergic disorders so extensive information, regarding protective role of ROS, RNS, adenosine, Interleukins-6, Interleukins-13, TNF-alpha, and MAP kinase as triggering mechanism in Pharmacological preconditioning, is provided. Research is oriented to find out the novel pathways of Pharmacological preconditioning in respiratory disorders and allergic such as respiratory stroke by using various drugs like Ova, Histamine and Trypsin induced. Key research expertise areas include: Animal models development and validation. Respiratory disorders (Allergic Rhinitis, Allergic response by Mast cells, Asthma), Preconditioning and anesthetic techniques, histopathological and various respiratory data evaluation like Markers and BALF studies etc. He is also engaged with training for Induction batch (B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry) of Dr Reddy’s. He has 26 publications in National and International peer reviewed Journals to his credit. He has participated in about 12 national and international conferences. He has guided 07 M. Pharm. students.

Ms. Rashmi arora, M. Pharm. (Pharm. Chem.), Ph.D. (Pursuing)

Assistant Professor
She is presently serving as Assistant professor under the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry. She has extensive experience in academia having 10.5 years experience in teaching and research, having exposure of industry and will soon be awarded with the degree Doctor of Philosophy. She has been engaged with project likeSynthesis, antimicrobial and anti-helminthic activity of novel pyrazole derivatives of benzimidazole, Isolation, Characterization and Bioprospecting of Microbes from various Ecological Niches,Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic potential of Luffa acutangula Roxb. Var. amara. Seeds, Cucumis melovar. agrestis seeds, Citrullus colocynthis seeds, anti-asthmatic activity of Ageratum conyzoide L, and Pluchea lanceolata. Her main research interest includes synthesis of novel derivatives, isolation of bioactive constituents and their pharmacological evaluation. She has guided 15 M. Pharm. students and is presently co-guiding one student. To make her little contribution in the scientific community she has published 53 papers in various international and national journals of repute. She has to her credit participation in about 25 national and international conferences.

Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, M. Pharm. (Pharm. Chem.), Ph.D.

Associate Professor
She is serving as an Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and holding rich experience of 10.5 years in Research and teaching. She has worked as DST Women Scientist (WOS-A) at Panjab University, Chandigarh and bagged prestigious fellowships UGC-MRP, CSIR-SRF. She has also been awarded “Dr. Harpal Singh Buttar and Harinder Kaur Buttar Young Scientist Award in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Rural Women” by Punjab Academy of Sciences in 2013. Dr. Kaur has published more than 15 national and international publications and one patent to her credit. She has participated and presented papers in about 40 national and international conferences. Her research areas of interest are Computer aided drug design, Synthesis and analysis of new chemical entities (NCEs) like hetero-fused bicyclic and tricyclic thienopyrimidines, pyrrolopyrimidines, benzothiazoles as adenosine receptor antagonists, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents and also method development by HPLC.

Dr. Balraj Saini, M. Pharm. (Pharm. Chem.), Ph.D.

Associate Professor
He carries professional experience of 7.5 Years research and 1.6 years in academics. He is engaged with projects on ICH recommended forced degradation studies on different active pharmaceutical ingredients. He has 14 publications in National and International Journals of repute to his credit. He is an active member of American Society of Mass Spectrometry. He has participated in about 12 national and international conferences. He is well versed with principles and operation of analytical equipments such as HPLC, HPTLC, Flash Chromatography, UV/VIS spectrophotometer, spectrofluorometer, Column Chromatography, Scanning Electron Microscope.

Dr. Manjinder Singh, M. Pharm. (Pharm. Chem.), Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
He carries professional experience of 6 Years in research and academics. He is engaged with projects on structure based drug design and medicinal chemistry of different heterocyclic nucleus against Alzheimer’s diseases, Diabetic complications etc. He was also engaged with training for Induction batch (B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry) of Dr Reddy’s. He has about 16 publications, 01 book and 01 book chapter under his credit on Flavones, Acetyl cholinesterase, Oxindole, P2X7, kinase inhibitors like Syk, ZAP-70 in various journals of international repute. He is recipient of several awards in national and international conferences. He has been awarded with various fellowships (AICTE, UGC-BSR, ICMR-SRF) and travel grants (ICMR, CSIR, IBRO-SfN USA, IBRO-France).

She carries professional experience of 11 Years in academics and 1.6 years in industry. She is engaged with project on TLC finger print profile of Ayurvedic Drugs mentioned in Ayurvedic Pharmacopeia of India. She is also engaged with training for Induction batch (B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry) of Dr Reddy’s. She has 10 publications in National and International Journals of repute to her credit. She has participated in national and international conferences. She has guided 05 B. Pharm. final year students in the research area.

Dr. Pooja Sharma, B. Pharm., Pharm D

Assistant Professor
She completed her doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2017 and having an experience of 8 months in academics and also of clinical pharmacy during her internship. She guided 10 pharmacist regarding medication error, prescription error, drug-drug interactions, crash cart updation, emergency drugs handlings and adverse drug reaction monitoring and reporting during her internship. She published book on diabetes and its complications in Lambert publication, also published an article on various case studies. Presently, she engaged in hospital round of Pharm D and M. Pharm. students and also training for Induction batch (B.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry) of Dr Reddy’s.

Ms. Shareen Singh, M. Pharm. (Pharmacology), Ph.D. (Pursuing)

Assistant Professor
She carries professional experience of 3 months in Academics and Research. She has been engaged in one-year master project and has a patent filed on “Pharmacological modulation of NF-kB attenuating epileptic seizures induced in rodents” with Dr. Gurjeet Singh Thakur. She has an expertization of in vitro preclinical studies of CNS disorders, nephrotoxicity and diabetes mellitus.
