A PhD in Mathematics, Dr Chitkara’s four-decade journey towards excellence started with his foray into teaching mathematics and mentoring countless young and curious minds. His credentials have earned him the Life Membership of the Indian Mathematical Society, Indian Science Congress Association, and Indian Society for Technical Education.
Under his tremendous leadership Chitkara University today offers over 60 programs, and has 200 plus academic partners across the globe. Dr. Chitkara’s vision has created a vibrant research culture in Chitkara University that has led to the faculty, scholars, and students here successfully filing over 700 patents and publishing over 2000 research papers. A curious learner himself, he has studied French and Mandarin at an advanced level.
As a ‘Community Reformer’, Dr. Chitkara is committed to improving the lives of the underprivileged community around him. He has adopted five villages in Punjab and a sixth one in Himachal Pradesh. He has also facilitated Chitkara University students to manage their own Community Radio – Chitkara 107.8 FM to engage with the rural community. Dr. Chitkara’s achievements and life are a live example of how an ordinary man can achieve the extraordinary.
