The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the UN in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and to ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. THE Impact Rankings use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

In this year’s rankings which lists over 1,400 universities globally, Chitkara University has been ranked 13th across the world for its impact in the parameter of Affordable and Clean Energy. Chitkara University has achieved the overall position of 201-300 in the rankings and is ranked in the top 100 in SDGs- Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action and secured rank of 101-200 in Clean Water & Sanitation.

We are committed towards all the 17 SDGs and our academic and social outreach programmes directly touch most of the goals. Only a few Indian Universities were able to make it into the prestigious rankings and it is a matter of immense pride for us.”

Besides World University Rankings, Times Higher Education publishes several other rankings of institutions every year on different parameters. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings-2022, Chitkara University has been ranked 4th in India and is among the top 5 in almost every individual SDG.
