Teachers honoured at Chitkara University on Teacher’s Day

To celebrate Teacher’s Day and to honour the educators, Chitkara University organised an interesting event based on Bollywood theme for all its departments.

The celebration commenced with a keynote address to acknowledge the sincere hard work and dedicated efforts put in by the staff. Hon’ble Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Chancellor, Chitkara University, along with Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University graced the occasion with their presence.

For the event, each department was given one movie from which they picked characters who played the role of teachers and portrayed it in a way as if it were happening in Chitkara University classrooms. Then the faculty members from the respective departments performed an act surrounding those characters.

The students also presented dances and songs on the occasion in praise of their teachers. Later, the panel of judges announced the best three performances and the best actor male and female, which were felicitated by Dr. Madhu Chitkara.

The first position was secured by Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture and Chitkara Design School (CDS), followed by Chitkara University Language Centre, HR, Finance and Happiness Center in the second place. The Computer Science Engineering department won the third prize and Chitkara College of Pharmacy got the consolation prize.

Dr. Vidhu from Computer Science Engineering department won Best Actor Female award and Vandana from Computer Applications won Best Actor Female Consolation.

Saurabh Shukla from Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture won the Best Actor Male award and Dr. Ankit Bansal from Computer Science Engineering department and Gopal from HR won Best Actor Male Consolation.

Dr. Ashok K Chitkara congratulated the winners and said, “We are thankful to our staff who is the backbone of Chitkara University. They inspire our students to achieve great heights and guide them to the right path. This Teacher’s Day, I extend my wishes to all the educators and wish them happiness and success!”
