Chitkara University commemorated International Women’s Day with a vibrant and multifaceted celebration that went far beyond symbolic gestures. Curated by the Office of Student Affairs, the campus transformed into a space of expression, empowerment, and acknowledgment of the diverse voices and talents that define womanhood.

The day unfolded across multiple dynamic venues, each reflecting a different facet of identity, strength, and creativity. Along Sportorium Road, the atmosphere brimmed with colour and craft as “Aakarshan – Bhaiya Thik Thik Laga Lo” offered a lively, women-led exhibition featuring handcrafted Kashmiri shawls, resin art, herbal wellness items, and more. Conversations flowed between food stalls and art displays, creating a marketplace of stories as much as goods.

The spirit of competition ignited with “Aa Dekhe Zara – Kisme Kitna Hai Dum,” where students and staff alike participated in Pickleball, Badminton, Table Soccer, and Dart matches. The energy carried into a spirited Zumba session under “Dance Pe Chance”—a collective outburst of rhythm, joy, and movement that brought together participants from across the campus.

Inside the Exploretorium, the thematic showcase “Nayika – Parde Se Pare” offered a cultural counterpoint. The event moved beyond traditional performances to celebrate humour, heritage, and perspective through skits, makeup games, musical quizzes, and theatre-based competitions. From the Bollywood-inspired “Filmy Phuljhadi” to the musical twists of “Suron Mein Cinema”, students lit up the stage with satire, skill, and style.

A moment of pause came with two evocative audio-visual presentations—“Her Voice, Her Power” and “Her Legacy, Our Pride”—that honoured the legacy, leadership, and everyday courage of women. These powerful montages sparked reflection, reminding the audience that behind every act of celebration lies a deeper history of persistence and progress. The afternoon culminated in “Glamour Ki Gali”, a ramp walk where participants didn’t just showcase fashion but confidence and individuality.

Winners from across the day’s sports, cultural events, and fashion showcases were felicitated by Chitkara University leadership and distinguished guests. Their recognition wasn’t just for performance—it was for passion, presence, and perseverance.

The day concluded on a high note with a stand-up comedy performance by Harpriya Bains, whose candid humour and sharp insights had the audience roaring in laughter, underlining the idea that empowerment also means the freedom to laugh, to reflect, and to be heard.

This celebration was not just a tribute—it was a testament. A declaration that women are not simply participating in the story, they are shaping it. At Chitkara University, Women’s Day became a space of visibility, vitality, and vision, honouring the path already paved and lighting the way forward for those still to come.
