Payas Jain secures Silver for India at Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships

Payas Jain, a second-year MBA student at Chitkara University, won the Silver Medal in the Men’s Singles event at the 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships 2026. Representing India, he secured the medal at the championship held at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi.

Payas put in a strong performance throughout the championship, securing a podium finish for India in the Men’s Singles event. Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University, said, “We are pleased to see Payas represent India at a Commonwealth championship and secure a Silver Medal. His achievement reflects the commitment he has shown to his sport alongside his academic pursuits.”

The medal ceremony was attended by Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, as the Chief Guest.

The achievement marks an important sporting milestone for Payas and adds to his journey as a student at Chitkara University.
