World Asthma Day was observed by NSS Volunteers of B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Semester from the Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences, Chitkara University, Punjab, through the organisation of a Slogan Writing Competition. The event provided a creative platform for nursing students to raise awareness about asthma, its prevention, and effective management.

The objective was to inspire students to craft impactful slogans that communicated essential information about asthma—its causes, triggers, symptoms, and preventive measures. Centred around the global theme of asthma awareness, the activity aimed to improve understanding of the condition and promote support for individuals affected by it.

The initiative encouraged participants to explore the importance of early diagnosis, treatment adherence, healthy lifestyle choices, and the value of community-level education in asthma care. Students enthusiastically contributed original slogans that were both imaginative and informative, reflecting a deep sense of engagement with the theme.

The event not only enhanced the students’ knowledge of asthma but also strengthened their communication and health advocacy skills. Such initiatives play a vital role in shaping future healthcare professionals as responsible community educators, committed to building a more aware and supportive society in addressing chronic health issues like asthma.
