NSS department organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with PGIMER & Rajindra Hospital

Human blood is universally recognised as the most precious and essential element of human life.
National Service Scheme, Chitkara University, Punjab organised a ‘Blood Donation Camp’ with an aim of donating approximately 500 units of blood in a day in association with Department of Computer Science Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of Computer Application, Department of Applied Sciences, Chitkara School of Health Sciences and EPIC Youth Club in collaboration with PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

Our honourable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Madhu Chitkara added grace to the occasion, not only by her dynamic presence but also instilled enthusiasm amongst the volunteers and appreciated the donors for their spirit.

Last year on the same date i.e. 16th February 2017, we aimed at donating 1000 units of blood in a year. And it is the first time in the history of Chitkara University that 1000 units of blood have been donated in a year of which 500 units have been donated in a single day. The PGIMER team led by Dr. Hari Krishan Dhawan and the Rajindra Hospital team led by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur and Dr. Najinder Kaur were happy to see the ebullience amongst the volunteers. Ms. Neelam, Programme Coordinator NSS, thanked and appreciated the donors for coming forth and contributing to the society.
