The National Service Scheme of Chitkara University, Punjab, in collaboration with the Chitkara School of Psychology and Counselling, organised a Drug De-addiction and Awareness Session for students on 2 May 2025. The session aimed to address the complex and often misunderstood realities surrounding substance use and recovery.

Anupam Rohit, Founder and President of Recovery Wellness Society, led the session with authenticity shaped by both personal experience and extensive work in the field. Having supported over 5,000 individuals in their recovery journeys, his insights reflected clarity, empathy, and lived understanding. Rather than approaching the topic as a crisis, he presented it as a human challenge that demands awareness, responsibility, and support systems.

The interaction was fluid and participant-led. Students engaged actively—asking questions, listening intently, and reflecting on the relevance of the subject to their lives and those around them. The environment encouraged openness and sincerity, making space for meaningful dialogue.

Without relying on data-heavy presentations or fear-based messaging, the session focused on early recognition, peer and family support, professional help, and the role of community. Anupam Rohit’s straightforward yet impactful communication underscored the essential elements of recovery with clarity and depth.

This session formed part of Chitkara University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and informed decision-making. By creating safe and open spaces for such conversations, the University continues to guide students toward responsible and reflective living.
