Mesmerizing performances, astonishing energy, incredible turnout make Explore ’19 roaring success

Explore’19 – the most awaited fest of Chitkara University was held at the University’s Rajpura campus, amidst much fanfare on March 30, 2019. This year’s theme for the Intra-University Fest was ‘Dream Discover Explore’, organised by the Office of Student Affairs, Chitkara University. The event witnessed astonishing energy, incredible turnout & tremendous positivity.

The fest started with a beautiful opening ceremony in Exploratorium, with the traditional lamp lighting by Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University. The inaugural song was followed by a captivating Odissi classical dance performance by, one of the judges and esteemed guest, Kavita Dwibedi, who is a leading Odissi Danseuse. Though there were several events that spelt zing some worth mentioning were ‘Shiv Parvati’ teamed with Sufi, Fashion show Glitz & Glam, a rocking performance by the band ‘Dhwani’, the performance by dance group ‘Custody’, to name a few.

Over 7,000 Chitkara students participated and ruled hearts ‘exploring, creating, inspiring’’ during 30 events which were organised at this extravagant fest – Glitz & Glam, Thunder Crew, Saaz-E-Sur, Beat the Street, Ampli-Fire and Mr. & Ms. Explore; and other events such as Paint Fiesta, Campus Clicks, Crack the Clue, Lee’s Code, Robo Race, Bollywood Battle, IPL Auction & Sports Quiz, Logo Quiz, A(D)esign, Pit Stop Challenge, War Of Thoughts, TechMaster, Eloquence, Comic-Con, Face Painting, Rangoli, PubG Solo, PubG Squad, CSGo, Fortnite, Fifa; and fun events like Minute to Win it, Dodge Ball, Ringolevio, DekhaUndekha, Tic-Tac-Toe and Pool Tournament.

The esteemed judges for various events included Kavita Dwibedi, leading Odissi Danseuse; Papiha Desai, Theatre Artist, Dancer and Choreographer; Dimpy Mishra, Actor; Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Founder/ Owner Redwings Production; Kiran Sangeeta Murali, Mrs India Globe 2016; and in-house Deans & Directors of the various departments of Chitkara University, Punjab.

The fest concluded with a glittering valedictory ceremony where winners (in respective categories) were awarded trophies and cash prizes worth Rs.3 Lakh by Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab; Dr. Varinder Kanwar, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, HP Campus; and Dr. S.C. Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University, Punjab. Later, energetic and foot tapping Bhangra and Gidha performances, followed by DJ Nite by Maadhyam Band, DJ Sunny, gave the one-day extravaganza a befitting adieu till next year!
