Fast strides are being taken by the pharmaceutical industry and the academics the world over, and research related to recent advances in pharmacological knowledge driven identification of novel therapeutic targets and resultant facilitation of drug discovery and preclinical & clinical evaluation of novel drugs is being carried out. The International Conference made an effort to compile some of the related recent findings and highlight some of the major issues related to above topics in the form of plenary lectures from expert dignitaries in the field of pharmaceutical industry and education from all over India and also from other countries, and at the same time give a platform for a young researcher to reach out to and develop insights into all the relate disuses with thrust on pharmacological approaches to drug discovery and clinical development.

The conference was initiated with felicitation of distinguished guest on behalf of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara, followed by ceremonial lamp lighting, a glimpse of recent trends in Drug Discovery and Development by Dr. S. Arora, Dir, CCP, and then the Chief Guest address delivered by Dr. Oliver Grundman, Univ of Florida who delved into drug discovery in relation to gut microbial flora. Five expert sessions each were conducted on the first and second day respectively. About 380 delegates registered for the conference and presented their research presentation as poster or oral scientific presentation. First two best oral and poster sessions were awarded amongst a thunderous applause by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara.
