IEEE CIET student branch organised a 3-Day Techno-Fest ‘Techie’s Day Out’ at Chitkara University

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering in collaboration with IEEE CIET student branch organised a 3-day workshop Techno Fest with theme “Techies Day Out” from September 20th to 22nd 2017 at Chitkara University, Punjab.

Day-1 (20th Sep’17):

  • “She The incredible” a Session on “Growth of Girls in Engineering and Research” marked the beginning of this fest. We were honoured to have Dr. Archana Mantri Ma’am (Pro Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University, Punjab) as the speaker. She shared her real-life experiences’ with the students and motivated the girls to pursue research. On the first day followed by Tech-roadies which was a fun event for fresher’s to test their basic computer knowledge.
  • “Tech Roadies” a Fun Activity based on- “How well do you know your computer” was the second event of the fest. It was organised exclusively for students of the 1st year. Total 21 teams participated and the event was surely fun packed with a seasoning of technology and pinch of humour.
  • Day-2 (21st Sep’17):

  • A Hands-on workshop on “IoT and Network Security” was organized on the second day of the fest. We were honored to have Mr. MJS Dhillon and Mr. Rakesh Garg from Infowiz Solution Chandigarh. Participants got involved in hands-on practicals conducted.
  • Day 3(22nd Sep’17):

    • A truly Techie Day, “CodeX”, a Code-A-Thon was organized on the third day of the fest. Participants were full of enthusiasm and solved programming challenges thrown at them. All participants gave a tough competition and two teams were selected on the basis of scores and awarded winning trophies.
    • End of this fest was marked by another Expert Session “Pro-Talks”. The topics under scanner were, ‘The Value of Exposure and Opportunities Abroad’ and ‘Importance of Communication Skills in Professional Life’. We were delighted to have Ms. Sovia (Dean-Chitkara School of languages) and Ms. Sangeet Jaura (Associate Vice President Office of Academic Support, Chitkara University ). The students felt encouraged and were delighted to attend this spellbound session.
