Dr. Madhu Chitkara Represents Chitkara University at QS India Summit 2026
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University was a distinguished speaker at the QS India Summit 2026 showcase session titled “Building a Global Higher Education Brand – What is Your Story?”, held on 2 February 2026. The session brought together academic leaders to discuss how institutions develop a distinct and credible global presence over time.
During the discussion, Dr. Chitkara shared the university’s institutional journey, focusing on the foundations that shape long-term academic standing. She reflected on the role of credibility, academic depth, and societal purpose as essential elements in building a global higher education brand, emphasising that these precede recognition or visibility.
Tracing its growth, Chitkara University began operations in 2002 with an initial cohort of 240 engineering students. Over the years, it has expanded into a multi-campus university ecosystem with a focus on research, faculty leadership, industry engagement, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration. These elements were presented as outcomes of sustained institutional choices rather than short-term positioning.
“Building an institution is a gradual process that rests on academic seriousness and consistency,” said Dr. Madhu Chitkara during the session. “Visibility follows only when a university is clear about its responsibilities to students, faculty, and society, and remains attentive to quality in everyday academic practice.”
The showcase session encouraged participants to reflect on how universities articulate their narratives in a global context, particularly amid increasing internationalisation and competition.
