Dr. Madhu Chitkara honoured with Woman Icon of Impact Award at PRAGATI Summit
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University, was honoured with the Woman Icon of Impact Award at the PRAGATI Summit. The award was presented by Alba Smeriglio, British Deputy High Commissioner, Chandigarh, in recognition of Dr. Chitkara’s significant contributions to education, entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment.
The recognition acknowledges Dr. Chitkara’s years of work in expanding access to education, encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting the advancement of women. Through her leadership, she has contributed to creating opportunities for learning, growth and meaningful engagement across diverse communities.
As part of the summit, Dr. Chitkara participated in a fireside session titled The Making of a Legacy. During the conversation, she shared experiences from her journey and spoke about resilience, purpose-led leadership and the importance of staying true to one’s values.
“Leadership is not only about individual success, but also about the opportunities we create for others to grow. Empathy, self-belief and strong support systems are essential in helping people realise their potential and make meaningful contributions to society,” said Dr. Madhu Chitkara.
