Chitkara University Students Excel in National Hackathon

A student cohort from Chitkara University secured third place at the “OVERTHRONE” Hackathon held during the HELIX Tech Fest at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology. Organised by the Indian Society for Technical Education, the event featured a competitive Capture the Flag format comprising nine rounds.
Aryan Mahajan, a Software Engineering student from the 2024 batch and part of the Deakin Pathway program, represented the university alongside his team, Solution Squad. The hackathon assessed participants across areas including data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, cryptography, and JavaScript, requiring sustained performance under time-bound conditions.
The team’s performance adds to ongoing student participation in national-level technical events, with a focus on building practical skills alongside academic study. The Deakin Pathway program, in particular, integrates international academic exposure with industry-relevant training.
This development aligns with the university’s continued engagement in competitive and collaborative platforms that support student learning beyond the classroom.
