Chitkara University is proud to be represented by Prof. (Dr.) Saurav Dixit, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), at the prestigious VI International Municipal BRICS Forum (Fall Session), currently being held in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Organised with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo, the forum convenes over 6,000 participants from 126 countries and features more than 700 global speakers. It serves as a prominent platform for international dialogue on sustainability, innovation, and economic development.

A landmark moment of the event was the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Chitkara University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU), Russia. This collaboration will focus on joint research in sustainability, artificial intelligence, and green technologies, as well as faculty and student exchanges and projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Prof. Dixit further contributed to the forum by delivering a compelling lecture on “The Future of Tourism in BRICS Countries,” highlighting tourism’s key role in economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. His talk offered valuable insights into policy frameworks and cooperative strategies to strengthen regional and international tourism partnerships.

The forum also served as a platform for engaging with global leaders and reuniting with Vitaly Sergeev, First Vice-Rector of SPbPU, to foster new partnerships and future collaborations.

Chitkara University’s presence at the forum underscores its commitment to global engagement, research excellence, and innovation-led education. These values were echoed throughout the forum’s focus on urban sustainability, public diplomacy, and inclusive growth.
