Chitkara University Recognised Globally across Multiple WURI 2026 Categories
Chitkara University has earned significant international recognition in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026, reinforcing its standing amongst leading institutions focused on innovation, research, and societal impact. The University has been ranked 66th globally amongst the Top 500 Innovative Universities and placed first in India in this category.
The rankings also highlighted the University’s performance across multiple specialised areas. Chitkara University secured the 13th global rank and first position in India in the Culture/Values Top 100 category, reflecting its emphasis on institutional values and inclusive academic practices. It was also ranked 19th globally in the University-Based Entrepreneurial Projects Top 100 category and 22nd globally in the Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved Top 100 category.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Madhu Chitkara said, “It is encouraging to see the work being carried out across the University recognised on a global platform. These rankings acknowledge the collective contribution of our faculty, researchers, students, alumni, and partners who continue to engage with challenges through research, innovation, and socially relevant initiatives.”
In addition to these rankings, the University was also recognised in the categories of Representative Research Projects and SDG & ESG-Based Responses to Global Challenges for its contributions to research and responsible innovation.
The WURI rankings evaluate universities on parameters that extend beyond conventional academic indicators, with a focus on innovation in education, entrepreneurship, ethical leadership, and social responsibility. Chitkara University’s performance across diverse categories reflects its continued efforts to build an academic environment that supports meaningful research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical engagement with contemporary global issues.
