Chitkara University Promotes Environmental Awareness on World Earth Day

The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Chitkara University organised a series of activities to mark World Earth Day, encouraging greater awareness about sustainability among students and the wider community.

As part of the initiative, an on-campus presentation highlighted the growing challenge of waste generation and its impact on the environment. The session encouraged students to adopt responsible habits and become more conscious of sustainable practices in their daily lives. Faculty members, NSS School Officers, mentors, staff members, and students also participated in a tree plantation drive held during the event.

Furthermore, cleanliness drives were conducted at Govt. Elementary School, Kallo Majra and Govt. Elementary Smart School, Ramanagar. Following proper safety measures, NSS volunteers worked to maintain cleaner surroundings while spreading awareness about the importance of collective action towards a cleaner future.

The activities formed part of the university’s ongoing efforts to involve students in community outreach and sustainability-focused initiatives.
