The National Service Scheme (NSS), in collaboration with the Office of Residential Services, Chitkara University, organised the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the consequences of substance abuse and encourage healthier choices among students.
As part of the nationwide campaign, students participated in an awareness program highlighting the physical, emotional, social and academic effects of substance abuse. The initiative connected nearly one crore schools and universities across the country.
A key part of the program was a live address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called upon young citizens to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement and contribute to efforts towards a drug-free India.
The program concluded with a pledge and oath-taking ceremony, during which students committed to staying away from drugs, raising awareness among their peers and communities and encouraging responsible choices.
The initiative formed part of NSS activities at Chitkara University, linking student participation with the national campaign for a drug-free India.
