Chitkara University NSS Leads Environmental Outreach at Government School, Mohikhurd

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Chitkara University organised the ‘Save Environment, Save Earth program’ at Government Senior Secondary School, Mohikhurd under the Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Program, supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and inspired by Mission LiFE. The initiative focused on encouraging environmentally responsible daily practices among school students.

The program included an awareness lecture on sustainable farming and responsible agricultural practices, along with a poster-making competition that engaged students on environmental themes. Certificates and small tokens were presented to selected entries, and eco-kits along with Mission LiFE pamphlets in Hindi, Punjabi and English were distributed to participants. The event concluded with an awareness rally through the village, where students raised slogans promoting tree plantation and environmental responsibility.

The initiative forms part of the university’s continued outreach with schools and local communities in line with national environmental priorities.
