Chitkara University NSS Holds Environmental Awareness Program

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Chitkara University, Punjab organised the ‘Save Environment, Save Earth’ program under the Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Program (EIACP), supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and inspired by Mission LiFE. The initiative centred on how everyday choices influence environmental outcomes.

Students engaged in discussions on sustainability during a session titled “Carbon to Net Zero”, which outlined how individual and collective actions can reduce carbon impact and identified practical steps that could be incorporated into daily campus life. They also received eco-kits, took the Mission LiFE pledge committing to environmentally responsible habits, and shared brief slogans linked to campus experiences reflecting their perspectives on conservation and sustainable living.

The event emphasised informed action and behavioural change. By integrating environmental awareness into campus activities, the NSS initiative highlighted the role of universities in encouraging responsible practices among students.
