Chitkara University has been conferred the ‘Excellence in University Education – University of the Year 2026’ title at the Times Leadership Summit Punjab 2026, organised by The Times of India. The award recognises the university’s work in higher education and was received by Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, along with Dr. K. K. Mishra, Pro Vice Chancellor (Quality Assurance), at the summit.

The recognition highlights the university’s continued engagement with academic development, research activity, and innovation-led learning. It also reflects its emphasis on maintaining global quality benchmarks, strengthening industry engagement, and expanding international collaborations across academic and research initiatives.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara said, “This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and industry partners who contribute to the academic environment at Chitkara University. Our focus remains on building a learning ecosystem that encourages inquiry, responsibility, and meaningful engagement with society.”

The university has also placed emphasis on creating an environment that supports entrepreneurship and a growing startup ecosystem, alongside a student-centred approach to teaching and learning.
