Chitkara University Joins FICCI Higher Education Mission in Thailand
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, represented the university at the FICCI Higher Education Mission to Thailand. The visit brought together higher education leaders and institutional representatives to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, student mobility, research partnerships, and industry-integrated education models between institutions in India and Thailand.
During the mission, Dr. Chitkara engaged with several Thai universities and stakeholders to discuss areas of mutual academic interest and possibilities for collaborative initiatives. A key engagement was a meeting at Shinawatra University with its President, Dr. Zhou, where discussions focused on potential institutional partnerships aligned with internationalisation goals and innovation-led learning approaches.
The visit also included an interaction with Nagesh Singh, India’s Ambassador to Thailand. The meeting provided perspectives on strengthening academic cooperation between India and Thailand and highlighted the role of universities in expanding educational exchange between the two countries.
Reflecting on the engagements, Dr. Madhu Chitkara said, “Engagements such as these provide an opportunity for institutions to understand each other’s academic priorities and explore areas where collaboration can be meaningful for students and faculty. Dialogue with universities and policymakers in Thailand helps identify pathways for partnerships that support research, mobility, and shared learning.”
As part of the mission itinerary, the delegation also visited several prominent institutions, including Thammasat University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Sasin School of Management, and Asian Institute of Technology, gaining insights into Thailand’s higher education landscape and evolving academic–industry linkages.
The visit forms part of Chitkara University’s broader engagement with international institutions aimed at expanding collaborative learning opportunities, research exchange, and cross-border academic partnerships.
