Chitkara University, Punjab hosted Out of Frame, a social and psychological drama that examined how art can question accepted ideas and individual choices. Organised by the Office of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Office of University Communication, Office of Student Life, and Office of Residential Services, the production brought together theatre and meaningful discussion through an engaging narrative.

Directed by Amit Sanouria and produced under Rudrakaya Production, led by CEO Shuchi Singh, the story followed Kabir, a painter who refuses to create work only to satisfy public expectations. Through his journey, the narrative addressed injustice, pain, and the silence surrounding uncomfortable realities. The line, “My art is not to decorate society but to question it,” remained central to the production’s message.

The production featured Supreet Saini, Sayyed Alim, and Suchita Sharma in key roles, bringing emotional depth and sincerity to the narrative. As the story moved towards its open-ended conclusion, it encouraged the audience to think about the role of art not only as a source of comfort, but also as something that can challenge people to look at difficult realities differently.

The event was part of the university’s continued efforts to encourage cultural and creative engagement alongside academic and technological learning, while giving students opportunities to connect with theatre and wider social conversations.
