Chitkara University Hosts Skill-Building Workshop to Mark World Youth Skills Day

Chitkara University, Punjab, marked World Youth Skills Day with an initiative that combined artistry and purpose. The National Service Scheme, in collaboration with the Department of Fashion Design, Chitkara Design School, hosted a hands-on workshop for members of the Tiranjan Vocational Centre.

Participants eagerly explored crafting, stitching and designing under the guidance of faculty and student volunteers. The room soon came alive with the rhythm of needles, folding fabrics and ideas taking shape. Bags were stitched with care, clutches shaped with precision, and patterns explored with curiosity. What began as simple craft exercises soon became moments of discovery, where each stitch built confidence and a sense of potential.

The workshop highlighted that skill goes beyond just technique. The pride in participant’s eyes as they held their creations reflected the tangible impact of the day. It was not only about learning to make objects but also about realising their ability to create, achieve, and grow.
