Chitkara University, in collaboration with JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Government of Japan and Acumen, hosted a Japan-focused engagement to explore JETRO internship and career opportunities for its students with five Japanese companies.

A 21-member delegation visited the University to learn about its academic journey, global footprint, industry partnerships and international mobility initiatives. The visit also highlighted Chitkara University’s growing academic engagement with Japan, with 50–70 students travelling to Japan annually through short-term mobility programs over the past two years.

The engagement featured a session on “Japan, its Culture, Careers & Possibilities”, where students explored Japanese culture and heard directly from company representatives about their industries, career pathways and opportunities in Japan.

“Engagements of this nature give our students an opportunity to understand international workplaces directly from industry representatives and to connect their academic experience with potential career pathways,” said Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University. “The continued academic and industry engagement with Japan is also an important part of our international mobility initiatives.”

The day concluded with individual interviews for 90 shortlisted students. The students were commended for their confidence, skills, professionalism and grounded approach, while the University was appreciated for its campus, infrastructure and hospitality.

The visit provided an opportunity for students to engage directly with Japanese industry representatives and gain a better understanding of career pathways in Japan.
