Chitkara University Hosts Inter-House Volleyball Match for Maritime Students

Chitkara University School of Maritime Studies, in collaboration with the University Sports Board, organised a spirited intra-departmental volleyball match that brought students together in the true essence of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition. The match served as a platform to foster sportsmanship and physical fitness among the cadets, aligning with the university’s broader commitment to holistic student development.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from two houses – Starboard and Port – with students turning up in large numbers to support their respective teams. The match was marked by energy, precision, and a strong display of coordination and strategy from both sides.

In a closely contested final, Starboard House, led by Priyanjal, emerged victorious and secured the first position, while Port House, led by Aafit, finished as runners-up. Both teams displayed commendable effort and resilience throughout the match, making it a memorable sporting event for all attendees.

The initiative not only offered a break from academic routine but also encouraged students to embrace teamwork and leadership – essential qualities for the maritime profession. Faculty members and university sports coordinators were present to support the players and emphasised the importance of balancing physical activity with academic pursuits.
