Chitkara University Hosts First Pickleball Tournament Promoting Sportsmanship and Community Spirit

Chitkara University Sports Board successfully organised the first edition of the Chitkara Pickleball Tournament. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff across various categories, making it a vibrant display of teamwork, athleticism, and camaraderie.
Pickleball, a fast-emerging sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, brought together players from diverse backgrounds who showcased remarkable energy and skill throughout the tournament. The event aimed to promote recreational sports, encourage physical fitness, and strengthen the university’s culture of collaboration between students and faculty members.
In the Women’s Doubles category, Payal Bansal and Sanya Taneja emerged as champions, followed by Rushali Choudhary and Priyanka Kumari as runners-up, while Naina Trehan and Harshita Garg secured the second runner-up position. The Men’s Doubles title was clinched by Vraj Prajapati and Namit Rattanpal, with Sparsh Malik and Ishaan Sudan finishing as runners-up, and Parv Batra and Akhil Sharma taking third place. In the Men’s Staff Doubles category, Harinder Pal Singh and Barbreek Gulati claimed the championship title, while Abhimanyu Gulati and Gurjinder Singh finished as runners-up, followed by Bahadur Singh and Nasim Sahin as second runners-up.
The winners were honoured with cash prizes and special recognitions for their outstanding performances. The event drew appreciation from participants and spectators alike for fostering a spirit of inclusivity and engagement within the campus.
