Chitkara University Highlights Population Awareness Through Thoughtful Radio Dialogue Session

Chitkara University marked World Population Day with a reflective and insightful radio session that engaged listeners in meaningful conversation about population growth and its impact on society. The discussion featured Jashandeep Singh, Associate Professor at the Business School, Dr. Rashmi Arora, Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy, and Jagwinder Singh, Assistant Professor at the School of Planning and Architecture, who also serve as NSS School Officers guiding students beyond the classroom.
Rather than focusing on statistics alone, the panel addressed the challenges and opportunities presented by population growth. They discussed the preparedness of infrastructure, access to healthcare, and the role of education in empowering future generations, particularly highlighting the importance of women’s education in shaping societal outcomes. The conversation acknowledged the richness of diversity within a populous nation while pointing out the silent pressures that can emerge if growth is unmanaged.
Listeners were encouraged to view population not as a mere number but as a reflection of societal priorities and planning. The session highlighted how thoughtful policies, community awareness, and individual responsibility contribute to sustainable development and collective well-being. Participants shared insights into practical strategies for nurturing every life with care, responsibility, and foresight.
The session concluded with a sense of measured optimism, emphasizing that population challenges can be addressed through awareness, preparation, and conscious action. The event reinforced Chitkara University’s commitment to fostering dialogue on pressing societal issues and empowering its community to think critically about the future.
