Chitkara University Graduates Showcase Collections at Chandigarh Times Fashion Week

Chitkara University marked an important milestone in design education by partnering with Chandigarh Times Fashion Week, offering its graduating class of 2025 in Fashion Design a platform to present their creative work on one of the region’s most prestigious stages. The collaboration underscored the university’s commitment to bridging academic learning with industry exposure, providing its young designers an opportunity to be recognised among established names in the fashion industry.
The showcase featured three distinct collections that reflected both conceptual depth and technical excellence. Rupinder Kaur’s collection, Enchanted Mycelium, drew inspiration from mushrooms, translating natural forms into striking silhouettes and textures. Jyothirmayi Prathibha Nair presented Aval, a collection rooted in the symbolism of chakras, bringing together spirituality and contemporary design. Priya Shekhawat’s Twisture celebrated movement and fluidity, with garments that captured rhythm and dynamism through innovative cuts and flowing fabrics. Together, these collections highlighted the originality, experimentation, and craft that Chitkara Design School continues to nurture.
The evening was further elevated by the presence of Navneet Dhillon, Miss India 2013, who walked as the showstopper, lending glamour and visibility to the young graduates’ work. Her participation added to the recognition the collections received, ensuring that the designers’ vision reached a wider audience.
Chitkara University’s presence at Chandigarh Times Fashion Week reinforced its position as an institution that values real-world engagement for its students. By connecting the academic world with professional platforms, the university ensures its graduates are industry-ready, equipped with both creative confidence and practical experience. Such collaborations also reflect the university’s broader vision of fostering innovation across disciplines and preparing students to excel in competitive global markets.
As the collections drew applause from both audiences and industry observers, the event served as a testament to the evolving role of fashion education in India. The recognition gained by Chitkara University’s graduates at this event is likely to open doors to further opportunities, collaborations, and entrepreneurial ventures. The partnership with Chandigarh Times Fashion Week has not only provided a significant launchpad for the Class of 2025 but also reaffirmed the university’s dedication to cultivating design leaders who combine imagination with relevance, setting new benchmarks for the future of fashion.
