Chitkara University, through the Chitkara Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CCIE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GSF, an early-stage investment firm, to support the progression of emerging startups from ideation and validation to acceleration and investment readiness.
The collaboration will focus on developing sector-specific startup cohorts, beginning with FinTech and Enterprise AI. The initiative will provide emerging founders with opportunities to test, develop and scale their ideas, connecting campus-based innovation with the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.
GSF brings experience from more than 110 investments, with its portfolio having a combined valuation exceeding $3 billion. Its experience in early-stage investing and its entrepreneurial network will form part of the collaboration with CCIE.
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University, said, “For an idea to progress beyond the classroom, students and founders need access to the right guidance, networks and opportunities at the right stage. Our collaboration with GSF brings these elements closer to the university’s innovation ecosystem and creates a more structured environment for emerging founders to develop and test their ideas.”
The partnership builds on CCIE’s focus on supporting entrepreneurship within the university and creating avenues for ideas to progress towards viable ventures. The first cohorts in FinTech and Enterprise AI will provide a sector-specific framework for founders as they work through the early stages of building their startups.
Through the collaboration, Chitkara University and GSF will bring together the university’s innovation ecosystem and GSF’s early-stage investment experience to support founders as they move from initial ideas towards market readiness.
