Chitkara University and GRIHA Council Partner to Foster Sustainable Development
Chitkara University has taken a progressive step toward sustainability by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the GRIHA Council, India’s leading authority on green building practices. This strategic collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing environmentally responsible development through academic partnerships, joint research, and institutional engagement.
The MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation across several key areas. These include joint academic and professional events, training and internship opportunities for students, collaborative research initiatives, and the integration of sustainable practices into the academic curriculum and campus infrastructure. This initiative aims to cultivate a deep-rooted understanding of sustainability among students, preparing them to lead future innovations in design, construction, and urban development.
The signing ceremony welcomed representatives from both institutions. Sanjay Seth, Vice President and CEO of GRIHA Council, and Shabnam Bassi, Deputy CEO and Secretary, joined Chitkara University in formalising the partnership. Sanjay Seth acknowledged the university’s ongoing green initiatives and praised its efforts in fostering an environmentally conscious campus that aligns with national and global sustainability goals.
