Chitkara University achieves high rankings in The Week and Hansa Research Rankings 2021
Chitkara College of Hospitality Management has been ranked 4th in ‘Private Hotel Management Colleges in North India’, Chitkara University Institute of Engineering and Technology has been ranked 7th in ‘Private Engineering Colleges of North India’ and Chitkara School of Mass Communication has been ranked 18th in ‘Mass Communication Colleges of India’. THE WEEK has been conducting the Best Colleges Survey in association with Hansa Research since 2009 to rank the top colleges in India. The study is done across ten disciplines—arts, science, commerce, engineering, medicine, dental, law, hotel management, fashion technology and mass communication—and covers 24 cities.
The original poll included 1,043 academic experts, 2,460 present students, 953 aspiring students, and 30 recruiters. The sample was chosen to ensure that all cities and disciplines were properly represented. Respondents were asked to name and rank the top 25 colleges in India as well as the top colleges in their city. There were 119 qualitative interviews out of 4,486 total. This helped get an in-depth understanding of the reasons for the rankings.
The Perceptual Score for THE WEEK-Hansa Research Survey 2019 was calculated using the number of nominations and the actual ranks received. A dedicated website was built for the collection of factual data, and the link was provided to almost 3,300 colleges. The information gathered from the colleges was used to generate the Factual Score. This included age, accreditation and infrastructure, faculty, placements, extracurricular activities, entry standard, teaching-learning process, and (for medicine and dental) hospital association. The total calculation was done on the following basis – Composite Score = Perceptual Score (out of 600) + Factual Score (out of 400).
Chitkara University Institute of Engineering and Technology (CUIET) has been ranked 57th in the top ‘Engineering Colleges in All India’, 32nd in the top ‘Private Engineering Colleges in All India’, 17th in the top ‘Engineering Colleges in North Zone’ and 7th in the top ‘Private Engineering Colleges in North Zone’.
Chitkara College of Hospitality Management has been ranked 21st in the top ‘Hotel Management Colleges All India’, 7th in the top ‘Private Hotel Management Colleges in All India’, 9th in the top ‘Hotel Management Colleges North Zone’ and 4th in top ’Private Hotel Management Colleges in North Zone’.
