Chitkara School of Languages presents play on social issues on women
Students of Chitkara College of Education for Women enacted a commendable play at Chitkara University, Punjab. It was presented by Chitkara School of Languages and garnered tremendous response from the faculty, staff and students of Chitkara University, Punjab.
The play was based on the social issues a woman comes across in her daily life and the aim of the play was to spread awareness about the same among the youth. The entire act was organized by Ms. Padma Siva.
Women in our society are victims of crime directed specifically at them like dowry-related crimes, domestic violence, gender discrimination, acid attack, eve teasing, etc.
This play talked about the discrimination faced by women and the harassment they face every day by their surroundings.
The cast of the play was appreciated by Dr Sangeeta Pant, Dean, Chitkara College of Education for Women. Dr Pant stated that the students who enacted the play were from various backgrounds and the way they presented an English play was simply commendable. It was a great achievement for Punjabi-speaking students to enact a play in English.
