In sync with the motto of NSS ‘Not Me But You’, Chitkara Management, Faculty Mr Gautam Malik, and the students, reflected the essence of democratic living and upheld the need for selfless service for an unknown human being, Mr. Darshan, who now has recovered with timely help delivered by Chitkara Fraternity.

Darshan could recover not because the administration was shaken by his plight as he was knocked off by a vehicle while he was walking on the road. He kept lying there for quite some time until help finally arrived. But due to the students of Chitkara University, who looked after him ever since he was hospitalized, he has now recovered.

The students not only helped identify Darshan’s name but also dropped him at his native place in Kurukshetra. On the contrary, the administration failed to identify the man and place an attendant to help him.

According to the Tribune News Service, Gautam, an employee at Chitkara University, said, “Doctors at the PGI have discharged him. As his family has refused to keep him, he will be staying with a social worker who resides in his area.” The Chitkara authorities also arranged two nurses to look after Darshan.

Students of Chitkara University looked after Darshan ever since he was hospitalised. Initially hesitant to disclose information about his family, the students looked after him and hence he opened up. They played a major role in his recovery.

Chitkara fraternity applauds the efforts put in by all those who saved Darshan’s life and the gesture shown by our students, faculty and management.
