Chitkara University continues to strengthen its global academic presence with faculty members contributing to significant international platforms. In a recent global engagement, Dr. Pooja Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, and Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Assistant Professor, Chitkara School of Psychology and Counselling, represented the university at the Erasmus International Staff Week held at the University College of Teacher Education, Innsbruck, Austria. The participation was facilitated by the Office of International Affairs, Chitkara University, Punjab.

Organised under the timely theme “AI in Education: Promises and Pitfalls,” the event convened educators and scholars from multiple countries to explore the evolving intersections of artificial intelligence and pedagogy. The weeklong program offered an intellectual and cultural platform for cross-border academic exchange and collaboration.

Dr. Pooja Singh presented a session on “Innovative Formative Assessments,” sharing forward-looking assessment methods that enhance student engagement while incorporating AI responsibly. Her insights on adaptive learning tools and inclusive evaluation strategies were well received by an international audience of educators.
Dr. Jyoti Sharma conducted an experiential workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence, Mindfulness, and Attention Regulation,” where she emphasized the growing relevance of emotional balance and focus in increasingly digitised classrooms. Her session included live demonstrations of mindfulness techniques, including the use of a traditional singing bowl to underscore the importance of sensory grounding in AI-enhanced learning environments.

The participation of Dr. Singh and Dr. Sharma not only reflected Chitkara University’s commitment to academic excellence but also opened doors to future academic collaborations. Representatives from several European, Central Asian, and South Asian institutions expressed strong interest in engaging with Chitkara through upcoming initiatives such as the university’s flagship 16th Global Week and proposed joint research projects on educational innovation and mental well-being in AI-integrated systems.

Through such international representation, Chitkara University reaffirms its dedication to fostering a globally competent academic community. The university remains committed to building international bridges that amplify research, enrich faculty exposure, and enhance student learning through strategic partnerships and knowledge exchange.
