Ms Karla Mayela Perez Neri, the Semester Exchange Student from Mexico at Chitkara University along with Nivedita Kochhar, both students of Chitkara College of Nursing under the supervision of Ms. Ankita and Ms. Neha Soni visited Krishanpuri Kushtlachar Seva Sangh, to meet the people suffering with leprosy.

The biggest disease today is not leprosy, but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, and deserted by everybody. Though a cure for the disease exists, deep-rooted discrimination continues to impede the path from poverty to economic independence.

The Aim of visit is to sensitize students to the predicaments and problems of people living with leprosy. Krishanpuri leprosy colonies sprang up near civil hospital, where affected individual came and live together. The concrete buildings, church and other structures at Krishanpuri Sewa Sang were built by volunteer organizations. Students interacted with the affected individuals and their families and they learned about their problems. They also learned about the treatment therapies available for these People.
