Aautofiesta’14 started its pursuit of success with a socio-thon raising Road Safety and Traffic Awareness in Chandigarh in conjunction with Traffic Police Chandigarh. The two day event starting October 25, 2014, witnessed on the first day, a rally flagged off from Tribune Chowk to Elante Mall, Chandigarh supporting the cause of road safety and paying an honest tribute to Late Sh. Jaspal Bhatti. The second day followed with a small rally of vintage cars by the Vintage & Classic Car Club Chandigarh at Sukhna Lake on October 26.

The flag-off to the region’s biggest Automotive Extravaganza was done by conducting a SIM-CAD competition on CATIA, provided by Dassault Systemes, co-sponsor Aautofiesta’14, which hosted Dr. Chandan Chowdhury, MD, Dassault Systemes India. Dr. Chowdhury also presented Chitkara University a plaque initiating the Dassault Certification Centre at Chitkara University.

10th November, 2014 held the MADS session(Mahindra Advanced Driving Skills) at Chitkara Unversity with quite a number of intellectual students who qualified for the second round on 11th November, testing their driving skills. 12th November was the curtain raiser of the fiesta, morning session had anexciting list of events, bringing forward the auto enthusiasts to brush up the innovations and hold-high the creativity in them. Project Aauto, Ballooned, Fuel Expert and Aauto Quizerria revolved the ideologies around automotive world while the events like Junk Punk and Trendsetters did not leave any creative stone unturned. Fun events like Laser Tags graced the day and the evening was mesmerized by the mystic Music on Lorry. All marked their success in the history of the showdown to be remembered all through the years. The highlight of the day proved to be the Vintage Car & Bike Show escorted by the Bullets and Thars Rallying behind them. Unsurprisingly the old classics shone bright.

Day 2, 13th November, The FMX Day practical got everyone’s hearts pounding. No other adjective can describe our FMX rider, REYRYDER better than DAREDEVIL! He performed tricks at Aautofiesta which were earlier just heard of in this geographical region. The day also witnessed the future goals of the students seeing the light of reality through intellectual workshops in the field of Vehicle Overhauling and 3D scanning undertaken by the Rasco Systems and Aerotrix which continued for the next two days. Following this was the off-roading event – Dust Busters, the first ever event of its kind to be held at any campus across the country. SUVs and Gerrari Offroaders’ – Stock and Mod Vehicles were the focus of this multi-dimensionally testing event.

Events like Aautoshot, Slow Biking and Paper planes added to the fun and frolic to the day as the evening witnessed a mesmerizing display of Super bikes by the WTF (Wheels That Fly) Riders. Magic always go noticed but not its excitement, such was an aura created by a magic show by the WONDER GUY, Aashish a.k.a Insane Aashish. Deservedly, Magic brought curtains to the day’s proceedings.

The concluding day – 14th November, the day of block busters, began with the most passionate event of the lot – Drag Racing. Riders gave it their all to stake a claim at the Speed King designation! FMX Show continued to weave its magic throughout the day. Wrapping around the day had few innovative events along with Quadcopter Workshop, which had people trying their minds from all around the country. The night concluded with the EDM night by (S)haan – INDIA’s only artist to have performed at the Tomorrowland Music Festival. It was a night that created an essence of happiness in every heart to be lasting for long, just the same way Aautofiesta did before saying the final goodbye!
Aautofiesta will return next year, promising to be a bigger, better and superior event!
