Chitkara University receives multiple honours at the National Sustainability Excellence Awards 2026

Chitkara University has received multiple honours at the National Sustainability Excellence Awards 2026, organised by the National EduTrust of India. The University received the District Green Championship Award 2026, the Green Campus Initiative Award 2026 and the Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) Award 2026 for its work in sustainability, environmental responsibility and social responsibility.

The awards recognise the University’s efforts to promote sustainable practices through education, research, innovation and community engagement, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to the institutional honours, members of the University community also received individual awards for their contributions to sustainability and academic leadership.

Commenting on the recognition, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder of Chitkara University, said, “These awards recognise the consistent efforts of our academic community to integrate sustainability into the way we teach, learn, conduct research and engage with society. They encourage us to continue building an institutional culture where responsible practices remain an integral part of academic and community life.”

The awards acknowledge the University’s continued work to integrate sustainability into its academic and institutional activities, supported by the contributions of its faculty, students, researchers, staff and partners.
