Chitkara University Students Shine Among the World’s Brightest Young Innovators at Apple Park

University proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of its students, Nimar, a second-year Computer Science Engineering student, and Tarandeep, a third-year Computer Science Engineering student, who have been named winners of the highly competitive Swift Student Challenge 2026. Organised annually by Apple, the global challenge recognises the world’s most promising young developers and innovators for their creativity, technical excellence and ability to build impactful app experiences using Swift.

As part of this prestigious recognition, both students were invited by Apple to attend the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC26) at Apple Park in California, where they joined an exclusive global community of student innovators, developers, engineers and designers from across the world.

Making the achievement even more exceptional, Nimar was recognised among the Top 50 Distinguished Winners globally, an honour reserved for the most outstanding submissions. This distinction earned him the rare opportunity to meet Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Apple, along with John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, during an exclusive interaction at Apple Park.

During WWDC26, the students attended Apple’s keynote presentations, participated in Developer Labs, technical workshops and interactive sessions with Apple engineers and industry experts. They gained first-hand exposure to the latest developments in artificial intelligence, app development, software engineering, user experience design and emerging technologies, while exchanging ideas with some of the brightest young innovators from around the world.

The achievement reflects Chitkara University’s strong emphasis on experiential learning, innovation and global exposure, providing students with opportunities to solve real-world challenges through technology and creativity. By earning recognition on one of the world’s most prestigious technology platforms, Nimar and Tarandeep have demonstrated the calibre of talent nurtured at the university and have made both Chitkara University and India proud.
