Chitkara University and IRM India Affiliate establish Centre of Excellence
Chitkara University, in partnership with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) India Affiliate, has launched a Centre of Excellence in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen education, research, and industry engagement in the field. The MoU was signed by Dr. Ashok K. Chitkara, Chancellor, Chitkara University, and Hersh Shah, CEO, IRM India Affiliate.
The Centre of Excellence has been established as a platform for research, training, and knowledge sharing in enterprise risk management. It aims to equip students, professionals, MSMEs, and industry leaders with a better understanding of risk management and its role in effective decision-making.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent professionals from the risk management community, including Sandip Datta, Former Chief Risk Officer, ITC Limited; Rajeev Tanna, CFIRM, Chief Risk Officer, Tata Consulting Engineers and Chairman, IRM India Regional Group; and Hersh Shah, SIRM, CEO, IRM India Affiliate.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, President and Co-Founder, Chitkara University, said, “Understanding risk and making informed decisions are important skills for future leaders. Through this Centre of Excellence, we aim to bring together academic and industry perspectives and create meaningful learning opportunities in the field of enterprise risk management.”
The Centre will support collaboration between academia and industry through research activities, professional learning initiatives, and knowledge exchange. It will also provide opportunities for interaction between students, researchers, and practitioners working in the field of risk management.
The Centre adds to Chitkara University’s ongoing efforts to connect academic learning with industry practice. By bringing together students, researchers, and industry professionals, it will support learning and knowledge exchange in the field of enterprise risk management.
