Chitkara University Hosts JioGames VALORANT Campus Cup Finale

Chitkara University, Punjab, hosted the Grand Finale of the inaugural JioGames VALORANT Campus Cup, a nationwide collegiate esports initiative organised by JioGames. The competition brought together 32 institutions from across India to create structured opportunities for student gamers. JECRC University, Jaipur won the national title, while PES University, Bangalore finished as runners-up.
The tournament followed a structured format, beginning with intra-campus selections, followed by national qualifiers and knockout playoffs. It was conducted in collaboration with Riot Games and supported by MSI, CyberPowerPC and Ant Esports to ensure consistent competitive conditions.
Four teams reached the final stage, including JECRC University, IIT Roorkee, PES University and MIT Pune. JECRC’s win follows its earlier involvement in JioGames initiatives, including hosting a 2025 bootcamp that engaged over 5,000 participants, showing continued participation in collegiate esports.
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, said, “At Chitkara University, we have always believed in encouraging an environment where innovation meets passion. Hosting the VALORANT Campus Cup National Finale was a testament to our commitment to the future of digital sports. This event was not just about gaming; it was about the discipline, strategic thinking, and collaborative spirit that these young students brought to the arena. We were proud to provide a stage where the next generation of Indian esports talent could shine and turn their aspirations into a professional reality.”
Matches were streamed on the JioGames platform and related digital channels, allowing audiences across the country to watch.
The event reflects the growing presence of esports in academic institutions and the role of universities in supporting organised competitive gaming.
